MDX-i and Microsoft have launched a cloud-based service for enterprise customers in West Africa
MDX-i is a data centre subsidiary of MainOne, and the solution is built on Microsoft Azure’s enterprise grade infrastructure, which provides flexible, highly available and fully secure private computing environments to companies on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Customers will receive a full set of integrated IT solutions, starting with IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), SaaS (Software as a Service) and BaaS (Backup as a Service), among others.
With the launch, MDX-i is positioned to meet the computing infrastructure needs of companies deploying private, public or hybrid clouds from its Tier III data centre in Lagos, Nigeria, said its officials. This provides an agile infrastructure for businesses and government agencies, they added.
MDX-i business development executive Rob Lever said the new cloud platform is a scalable and cost-effective alternative to dedicated computing resources deployed in-house by companies and includes managed virtual data centres, virtual private servers, and virtual LANs to assure customers of high availability.
As businesses are beginning to embrace cloud services, the IaaS platform reduces complexity, interoperability, and security concerns of customers, by providing the expertise of MDX-i and Microsoft, without them having to incur additional deployment costs.
